and some more soapstone thingy. this time more difficult, in "total 3d". a white tiger. --- though im really really sure, the stone was red before i worked with it. i so want a red soapstone thingy. damn it.

this wasnt easy for me. its really different from the work in clay. in clay u put things on. here, u "put" them away. once the material is gone, u cant easily attach it on there. u see it cause the attached stone has a slightly different color then. and its of course harder to make them fit in place.

all in all its ok for me, first try in 3d.
u see 1 cut on the stomach and 2 on the right front leg (i sawed too deeply). the tail is attached with glue, cause the original stone wasnt big enough. the rest is cut out of one piece. the left rear leg broke off -> glued on.

long art descriptions get on nerves :)

This tiger is amazing. I really like the translucence of it.

thx mate. ur works are better, more fluent.

and yes, this translucent effect makes working with soapstone kind of magic, to me.

I recently started working on a pair of pink alabaster fish, and I find the way light goes through it to be, as you say, "magic". Hopefully I will actually get some time to work on them so I can post them soon! Keep up the awesome work!
